Detailed Itinerary
D1 Arrival in Yogyakarta
Arrive in Yogyakarta and transfer to your hotel in the cultural capital of Java. In the evening, walk the bustling Malioboro Street, where the scent of charcoal-grilled satay fills the air and gamelan music drifts from shop doorways. Sample gudeg, the city's legendary jackfruit stew, and watch a leather puppet-maker at work. Travel tip: Indonesia spans three time zones — set your watch to WIB (Western Indonesian Time) for Java and Bali.
D2 Borobudur & Prambanan
Rise before dawn for the iconic sunrise at Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist monument, where mist pools in the surrounding jungle as 72 bell-shaped stupas emerge from the darkness. After breakfast, explore Prambanan temple complex, a masterpiece of Hindu architecture with soaring spires carved with Ramayana scenes. In the evening, attend a Ramayana ballet performed under the stars with the illuminated temple as a breathtaking backdrop.
D3 Yogyakarta to Bali
Catch a morning flight to Bali, the Island of the Gods. Transfer to Ubud, the cultural and spiritual heart of the island, where lush rice terraces ripple in every direction. In the afternoon, take a gentle walk through the Tegallalang Rice Terraces, marvelling at the subak irrigation system — a UNESCO-recognized cooperative water management practice — before settling into your hotel with a fresh young coconut.
D4 Ubud — Temples & Monkey Forest
Spend the morning exploring Ubud's Sacred Monkey Forest, where long-tailed macaques scamper through a jungle sanctuary dotted with moss-covered temples. Continue to Ubud Palace and the nearby art market, where silver jewelry, batik, and woodcarvings make irresistible souvenirs. In the afternoon, visit Tirta Empul, a sacred water temple where Balinese Hindus in colorful sarongs perform purification rituals in the holy spring pools — a deeply spiritual spectacle.
D5 Bali Temples Day
Embark on a full-day temple excursion across Bali. Visit Tanah Lot, a sea temple perched on a wave-lashed rocky outcrop, then head inland to Ulun Danu Beratan, a stunning temple that appears to float on a serene volcanic lake. End the day at Jatiluwih, a UNESCO-listed expanse of rice terraces that sweep across the foothills in emerald waves — some of the most beautiful agricultural landscapes on Earth.
D6 Uluwatu & Seminyak
Journey to Bali's southern tip for a morning at Uluwatu Temple, dramatically poised on a 70-meter cliff above the Indian Ocean, where surfers ride waves far below and cheeky macaques patrol the pathways. Return north to Seminyak for an afternoon at the beach — sink your toes into volcanic sand, ride a surfboard in the gentle breaks, or sip a cold Bintang beer at a colorful beach bar.
D7 Bali to Labuan Bajo
Fly east in the morning to Labuan Bajo on the island of Flores, the gateway to Komodo National Park. Spend the afternoon exploring this charming fishing town, browse the harbor for fresh seafood, and prepare for the adventure ahead. As the sun sets over the harbor, watch traditional pinisi schooners bob in the golden light — this is the edge of Indonesia's wild east.
D8 Komodo Dragons
Board a boat for Komodo Island, home of the legendary Komodo dragon, the world's largest lizard. Trek through savanna and dry forest with an expert ranger to observe these prehistoric-looking creatures in their natural habitat, their forked tongues tasting the air. After lunch, snorkel at Pink Beach, where crushed red coral gives the sand its rosy hue and the underwater world teems with parrotfish, angelfish, and turtles.
D9 Padar Island & Manta Point
Start before sunrise with a challenging but rewarding hike up Padar Island, rewarded at the summit with a jaw-dropping panorama of three crescent-shaped bays in different shades of turquoise and deep blue. Later, drop into the water at Manta Point to snorkel alongside majestic manta rays with wingspans reaching four meters — their graceful, silent flight through the depths is one of the ocean's greatest spectacles.
D10 Kanawa Island
Spend the morning snorkeling the pristine reefs off Kanawa Island, where untouched corals and schools of tropical fish create an underwater kaleidoscope in gin-clear waters. After lunch, catch your afternoon flight back to Bali, arriving in Seminyak by evening. Celebrate your journey with a farewell dinner of babi guling (suckling pig) or a seafood feast at a beachfront restaurant.
D11 Bali Free Day
Enjoy a fully free day in Bali for whatever calls to you: learn to surf at a Seminyak break, book a traditional Balinese massage and flower bath, go shopping in boutique stores, or simply lounge by the pool with a good book and an endless supply of fresh tropical fruit. In the evening, gather for a farewell dinner at one of Seminyak's celebrated restaurants — toast with arak cocktails to twelve unforgettable days across three extraordinary Indonesian islands.
D12 Departure
Enjoy a final Balinese breakfast of nasi goreng or tropical fruit before your transfer to Ngurah Rai Airport. Pick up Balinese coffee, handcrafted silver jewelry, or a bottle of aromatic coconut oil as a fragrant reminder of the island. Sampai jumpa — until we meet again on these blessed shores.
